Peptide Therapy

Peptide therapy is an exciting and revolutionary new approach to health and healing. Although peptides and their use in medical therapies have been around for many decades, medical professionals have only recently begun to fully appreciate their extensive therapeutic benefits.

What are peptides?

Peptides are small proteins comprised of short chains of amino acids. These compounds are naturally produced by the body as signaling molecules, meaning they are crucial to cell-to-cell communication. This means they can be used to re-activate cells which have gone dormant or cells that need a boost to get back to their full functionality.

Peptides support a wide range of functions including:

  • Stimulate hormone production

  • Regulate the immune system

  • Reduce inflammation

  • Heal damaged tissue

  • Boost cell production and cell rejuvenation

  • Lower blood pressure

  • Act as antioxidants to scavenge free radicals

  • Regulate appetite, metabolism, and digestion

  • Direct muscle and bone metabolism

How are peptides used?

Given how crucial peptides are to a wide variety of functions in the body, different peptides can be used depending on the specific health condition being addressed. Peptide therapy is used to:

  • Modulate immune function for people with autoimmune conditions

  • Improve memory and cognitive function

  • Aid in wound healing and tissue repair

  • Address depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders

  • Manage and reverse gastrointestinal dysfunction

  • Heal “leaky gut”

  • Boost metabolism and promote weight loss

  • Promote anti-aging benefits

Often several peptide therapies are combined to ensure a more targeted and customized approach to each patient's needs and health concerns.

Is peptide therapy safe?

Peptide therapy is backed by a breadth of scientific research, and many peptides are FDA-approved. These naturally occurring peptides have been proven to be both safe and effective, with few, if any side effects. Overwhelmingly patients have seen significant benefits through the use of peptide therapy.

We source our peptides from a highly reputable company, ensuring the highest level of quality, purity, and efficacy.

How are peptides administered?

Peptide therapies vary with regard to their administration, including as a nasal spray, sublingual tablet or in some cases a painless, self-administered subcutaneous injection.

What are some examples of how peptides are used at the Kellman Wellness Center?

Thymosin Alpha 1

This highly versatile peptide is naturally produced by the thymus gland. However as we age the levels of this essential peptide decrease. It is primarily responsible for regulating the immune system; therefore it is a potent immune-modulating compound, often used in patients dealing with an autoimmune disorder or other inflammatory conditions. It reduces inflammation, increases antioxidant production, and balances immune function.

Ipamorelin

This peptide has powerful anti-aging benefits, as it naturally boosts our production of growth hormone (GH), which decreases as we age.. Unlike growth hormone replacement therapy (GHRT), whose benefits required continued supplementation, Ipamorelin is a growth hormone releasing peptide naturally stimulates the pituitary gland to increase its production of growth hormone. Therefore, this is a natural and more effective way of slowing the aging process. Further, it helps to improve the muscle to fat ratio in the body, aids in muscle growth and repair and helps to regulate metabolism, there by boosting weight loss.

Selank

Selank is another peptide which provides powerful cognitive effects. It is often prescribed as a nasal spray, as it can be broken down in the digestive tract. By administering directly into the nasal passage, it is more directly delivered to the brain. Selank is used to treat anxiety, increase energy, reduce depression by boosting serotonin levels, as well as to improve overall cognitive function.

BPC-157

BPCs (body protection compounds) are primarily produced in the gut and the stomach, and they function to protect and heal the digestive tract. This peptide is a particularly useful treatment for gastrointestinal conditions, as it promotes healing of the gut. BPC-157 is naturally anti-inflammatory, helps to alleviate pain and is very effective at combating leaky gut, gastrointestinal cramping, as well as the treatment of Crohn’s Disease.

Dihexa

Dihexa is a cognitive enhancer, often touted as a “neuronic wonder-drug” due to its significant benefits for the brain. It may be as much as 10X stronger than the brain-derived neurotrophic factors (BDNF) often used in medications for the treatment of conditions that result in cognitive impairment and memory loss, such as Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia, as well as Parkinson’s Disease and people dealing with traumatic brain injury. Dihexa has been shown to promote the formation of new synapses in the brain, which are essential for the transmission of nerve impulses from one neuron to the next and are responsible for the communication between the brain and the rest of the body.
